Plenary location

Due to financial difficulties, we had to relocate the plenary room to the gyms. This change of venue had the consequence that the organization of Spring Agora Enschede 2017 will have to place their own chairs for Agora participants during the plenaries. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide chairs for all the participants. We can only guarantee chairs for the first 300 participants that confirm their participation in this Agora. Confirmation opens in the upcoming days!

For all participants that do not obtain a chair provided by us, we recommend bringing your own chair to avoid having to sit on your sleeping mattress throughout the entire event.

We are still working to overcome this inconvenience but trust you understand the situation.

Progress Update: Discovering our skills

In the last two weeks, a lot has happened. We would first like to inform you about all the skills of our committee members. Besides being IT nerds, Killer negotiators, Logistic heroes and Planning Pros, we also discovered we are exceptionally good at karaoke! We don’t like to brag, but with each beer, the quality of the songs ánd the singing got better. As if you had not guessed it yet, we had another team building event with as a result an (embarrassingly enough not to tell you) committee song. It was hard to beat the glow-in-the-dark golfing, but it was definitely equally as fun. While organizing such a big event it is important to keep the positive energy by having a lot of fun together.

Of course, big steps were taken in the organizing process as well. Another meeting with the Advisory board took place and we made progress in the process of getting buses, had interesting discussions about the program and we are making sure everyone is safe during the event. The website includes more information about how to get to Enschede and the core team page is updated as well. Also, a location is found to celebrate European Night. We are already looking forward to this night especially and getting ready to taste all the good food from you all!

Hi everyone!

In this first blog post, we would like to give you some general information about our process until now. The committee started out approximately a year ago and everyone was enthusiastic to start this new adventure. Of course, all members of AEGEE-Enschede were very happy when we got the message we were the lucky ones to organize this Spring Agora! Now the time was there to really start organizing. Fruitful discussions resulted
in determining the main theme of this Agora: Dare To Act. In the last few months, the committee has been busy with making sure every participant has a place to sleep, a place to sit and not less important, a place to take a hot shower.

Design struggles were real because you know, it is design, but we are very happy about the clean and slick outcomes. As of right now, the committee is at the office almost every day trying to make this Agora the most amazing one yet. The program is being finalized and we are reaching out to companies to really make this event count. Also, two subcommittees are now fully in function and are busy with specifically the logistics and organizing the memorable (or not ;)) parties and the social program!

We would like to invite you to follow our journey, check out the website and come back here regularly for more updates on the core team.
